Touching the future, Q and A with a pioneer on the vision and future of tablets

The Guardian has found a way to make money without having to charge people for their news. The Guardian has always been known for free news. They do ask for one time donations or for an ad-free experience by paying a fee. I think it's very cool to see a company that was struggling to stay afloat is now making money. They have 365,000 recurring contributors and aim to have up to 2 million within the next 3 years. The Guardian releases their news every day at 3:00 a.m. London time. The slider tool is very cool to me. It moves the article along with you so you know exactly how much longer you have left in the article. People know when they are done and if they have to get more news than they can go to the other guardian app. The constant updates on the app are gonna ensure people are always getting the freshest news as possible. I know people want their news as soon as they can and people read the news at different times. For The Guardian to have an app that constantly is reporting

iPads worked for the Guardian for 8 years. now will it draw new subscribers on phones

I found it very interesting and it is cool to see how the whole world has changed. What once looked like it could never happen is now how most people consume information. It is very cool to see the development and growth before the IPad. Fidler was ahead of his time and started to begin the transformation of the new form of how printing and information are given and received. He started the tablet newspaper 5 years before the IPad was even made. It is weird to even think of a world where technology like that isn't automatically at your fingertips. I know people went on with a lot less for a very long time but in a generation that we live in it is weird to think of Fidler creating something before it really was acceptable. I find it very interesting to see how some newspapers and other companies did not use the eMprint format. You would think if it was successful that you would see a lot of companies trying to use the things that were given. Tablet media for the future involves so m

How journalists can address mistrust in the pandemic and flatten the curve

Journalists have a very important job in this time of chaos to be clear and contribute necessary information to its listeners. Viewers have an important job of taking what people who have conducted research and studied the disease to listen to what the reports are. I found it very interesting and cool that they have a view mindsets of just repeating a simple and clear message that everyone can remember. This is easy for someone who has not paid hardly any attention to the news and for the person who can't stop watching. Earlier when the pandemic was just beginning to take shape a reoccurring topic was washing your hands. They were adamant about informing you of how to wash and for how long. Then if you fast forward to today it has progressed to stay at home and social distancing. This is something we've all heard from someone regardless of how much media we have decided to take in. It also mentions the use of graphs and charts as opposed to words. I think this makes total sense

Crowdsourcing truth and how journalists can avoid spreading misinformation

This is a very interesting time for our country and for social media as now everything that gets posted on any form of social media is breaking news. People do not take the time to evaluate what they are reading and fact check the articles or posts they receive the information from. I think people need to be smarter about what they post and repost as certain people can become anxious over false information. Also, people can take something as serious as this and blow it off. I think we as consumers need to take any information we receive, not from a reliable verified source, with a grain of salt as we do not really know the validity of the post. If we do not know something is true we should not repost it. If we repost things we do not have the support of we are contributing to the problem of the spread of fake news. I also liked how the article mentioned the dates of articles and to be mindful of when something was posted in reference to when you are reading it. In something as serious
